Benefits of Our Fire & Ice Room

The hot and cold experience has significant healing and regenerative effects on blood flow that deliver a knock-on effect to all areas of the mind and body.

  • Enhanced Circulation

Alternating between hot and cold stimulates circulation to aid nutrient delivery to tissues, accelerate the removal of waste products and promote faster recovery from injuries.

  • Pain Relief

Contrast therapy provides analgesic properties, offering relief from many types of pain, including sore muscles, joint stiffness and inflammatory conditions like arthritis.

  • Immune System

The temporary stress induced by hot and cold fluctuating temperatures prompts the body to adapt and strengthen its defences, potentially reducing the likelihood of illness and infections.

  • Skin Health

Alternating temperatures stimulate the skin's natural healing mechanisms, leading to a healthier complexion, improved tone and texture, and increased environmental resilience.

  • Metabolic Function

The contrast between hot and cold temperatures can rev up the body's metabolic rate, leading to increased calorie expenditure and improved metabolic efficiency.

How Our Fire & Ice Room Works

Our Fire & Ice Room consists of a new infrared 2-person sauna combined with an ice bath. This provides the ultimate in contrast therapy for anyone, including athletes and fitness enthusiasts looking to expedite muscle recovery and alleviate post-exercise soreness or injuries. Here's what to expect:

Temperature

The infrared sauna can reach up to 70 degrees, and the ice bath is typically set at 3 degrees.

This extreme contrast between hot and cold temperatures helps flush out metabolic by-products, such as lactic acid, which can accumulate during intense physical activity. This flushing action facilitates muscle relaxation and promotes faster tissue repair, enabling you to bounce back more quickly from workouts or injuries.

Duration

Sessions can be booked from between 30-40 minutes.

Safety

Limit your time in the sauna to 15-20 minutes per session and restrict time in the ice bath to 1-3 minutes per immersion (start with shorter periods if you are new to the modality). Remember to stay hydrated.
